Snug, elegant and welcoming havens

The centrepiece of the upper floors is the wrought banister, typical of Le Même, which was the starting point for the architect's passion, leading to the 22 rooms and suites of our 3-star hotel in Megève. Each of the rooms on the first and second floors of this charming residence overlooking the village is like a haven of calm. Stepping into the interior, with its warm wood, style and elegance, marks the beginning of a delightful holiday.

Here, each of the rooms and suites (which fall into 8 categories) is unique, with local stones here and beautiful fabrics there, as well as wool blankets and cushions by Arpin, an old-fashioned chest of drawers, and spotlights hidden in the ceilings that contribute to the refined atmosphere of these living spaces. The spacious rooms and suites at the hotel Au Coin du Feu in Haute-Savoie offer room for joy to express itself, while outside the windows, Megève and its mountains offer endless possibilities for exploration and adventure.

On the third floor, welcome into the world of Henry-Jacques Le Même. The master architect’s style is present throughout: in the finishes created by the workshop of Jean-Luc Freundorfer, the last cabinetmaker to have worked with the architect; the chairs; the pegs; the wall lights; the reproductions of frescoes; the period desks. Rather than the spirit of a museum stuck in the past, this is a vibrant tribute that is more contemporary than ever. Light, bright, spacious and boasting an unobstructed view of the mountains, the Le Même rooms are a story within history, an adventure within the adventure. Everything here resonates with radiant happiness.

Breakfast

The first meal of the day, essential for providing the energy needed for the ski slopes, hiking paths or mountain-biking trails, breakfast at Le Coin du Feu hotel in Megève is comprised of a delicious selection of carefully sourced local produce.

Along with quality bread and pastries, the table is graced by charcuterie from Maison Baud, as well as Tomme, Abondance and Reblochon cheeses from the valley.

You will also find local yoghurts, a seasonal fruit salad served in hand-painted Savoy-style bowls, and jams made by Chef Marvin Lance. It would be hard to choose between the light and fluffy home-made cakes and the salmon smoked by the Chef, but you don’t have to.

Served in the lobby, the breakfast buffet never fails to delight.

With its wood panelling and Savoy-style sculpted hearts, its enamelled plaques, its wall of bottles and its inviting bar stools, it has all the ingredients for an epicurean break from morning to evening.

Hot beverages, fruit juices, signature cocktails, wines of all colours, aperitifs, liqueurs and elegant snacks: whether alone, as a couple or as a family, to watch time go by or create memories to savour, the bar is the convivial gathering place for stays at Au Coin du Feu.

The lobby

The beating heart of the hotel, the lobby is a snug cocoon with a family-chalet ambiance exuding elegance. The light wood panelling resonates with the charming interior, featuring comfortable sofas, family portraits dating back to the eighteenth century, solid coffee tables to lay your cup upon, sunshine pouring in through the windows, and the striking fireplace that brings warmth.

People come here for breakfast, teatime pancakes and early evening drinks, to gather for long chats, or to read a book in one of the armchairs by the fire. The interior is filled with objects selected by Nicolas, including the two beautiful sideboards by Le Même, which are not part of a set but look as though they were made for each other. A place filled with life, gatherings and smiles, where people come together and share, this is where the soul of Au Coin du Feu originates, before radiating to the upper floors, where it fills the 22 unique rooms and suites of this welcoming, family-friendly hotel.
